The University of Newcastle Bachelor of Visual Communication Design 2014 Grad Show Catalogue
I worked with a team to create the identity, branding and messaging for the 2014 University of Newcastle Visual Communication Design Graduate Show. This catalogue and the accompanying exhibition showcased the work of the 2014 graduating cohort of the Bachelor of Visual Communication Design.
Themed around the phrase “A to B”, we created the identity to both celebrate the achievements of our cohort thus far and reflect on the possibilities going forward. The design process was extremely collaborative. Working within a small team, I designed the catalogue for the show, which showcased the work of 56 students.
I used colour and design elements from the other branding aspects overlaid with a street map of the area around Newcastle University. The catalogue was printed on newsprint, both for it’s aesthetic and cost-effectiveness.
The catalogue was honoured with a distinction at the AGDA Student Design Awards in 2015.
